Downtown drinking dynamics

Seems like a lot of people like to drink at some of our downtown watering holes. Which raises a question: With the new city council coming on board, will the dynamics change so that the Monroe Street Grill will be able to get one of those downtown district liquor licenses or will someone with the "best interests" of the city prevent that from happening again?

I don't believe that anyone said Monroe Street Grille couldn't get a license. It seems that the DDA helped her out as did City Council. The owner's own inability to follow through is the reason for not getting one.

Rick,

Why do you post excrement like this under your pen name "observer" but you never show up at a city council meeting to voice your opinion?

Could it be because you are a failure at what you do? Does John Iaco not even care enough to tell you what you think anymore?

Could it be that your days of having Compora set up nice soft ball lobbs for you to hit are OVER? Heck, come to think of it you struck out on that lob, didn't you?

I don't see you being able to buy and take more buildings off the tax roles in your immediate future. You will have to content yourself to watching the Beneteau's and others buying them up and opening businesses despite jerks like you getting in the way.

If you weren't such a useless and boring person to talk to we might just ask you to join us once in a while. Alas, you will have to content yourself to hanging out with John and Linda and the other losers and talk about how great it could have been.

I heard someone was commissioning a mural of You, Linda (In a Bikini), and John trying to mud wrestle with a pig. The thing is you guys aren't very good at it, and the pig kind of enjoys it.

Better luck next time Ricky, Linda, John.

Observer,

Doesn't your friend John Iaco have a liquor license that he stole from his tax payer funded Restaurant Kennon's?

Oh - thats right. He stuck the city with the tab from that failed venture, screwed the bank and some other partners, and already sold it.

Man - I am glad the citizens of this city didn't fall for the excrement the Monroe Evening News was dishing about us needing an excellent business man like John Iaco to be our Mayor. With business experience like he had we would have soon been the nicest, historic, walkable, bankrupt city in SE Michigan.

Observer,

Please take off moderation so we can have intelligent conversations outside your insipid strings you put up.

You have really lost it since you lost your election bid.

You never did answer Roundybout if you were angry with Tonya over messing up your election bid.

Get a hobby soon! You will have much time on your hands! Maybe you can spend more time making up lies about Honest Ed, your representative on council.

What a jerk you are!

Peace!

By the way - what ever happened to the informative posts from the Book of Mormon, the Magna Carta, Gone With the Wind, War and Peace that used to be on here? I still laugh when I think about the tree full of Monkeys.

Honestly there isn't much reason to come here anymore.

I think that is why City Citizen and Alacajun bailed.

Rick, you are one pitiful looser. Why don't you just crawl under a rock with Linda and John and never be heard from again? Just a suggestion.

When did Monroe Street Grill get turned down? Seems like everyone has been supportive of restaurants getting liquor licenses so the Monroe night life/dining gets better. I know that I always enjoy a little cocktail before dinner.

I think you are misinformed this time observer.

"I think that is why City Citizen and Alacajun bailed."

Not bailed just busy. Besides until the swearing in and gnashing of teeth begin over the implementation of the needed changes it seems a slow news story.

Anonymous opined:

"You never did answer Roundybout if you were angry with Tonya over messing up your election bid."

Why would he be angry? He lost for the second time. What cost him the election more than anything else is himself and his connection to the Iacoangenili / Compora inner circle. Enough with the secret societies.

Besides, do we even know that they get along? They seem so different, one is a nice person the other a bit of an ogre (but not in a good way like Shrek)

In terms of your pontification on "Honest Ed". Again, why get into this, you only look stupid. It's funny that somehow the councilman (small letters were intended) is referred to as "honest", like a used car salesman. Once in an ethics class it was said that those who had to always tell you how ethical and honest they were really weren't. Course this is just my opinion, like yours, the only difference is that again, my opinion is supported by the councilmans own actions and has been documented enough. I am sure he is a nice guy. He should be very thankful that he retained his seat - he had the least number of votes of any incumbent. Considering the number of boards, committees and what not that the councilman sits on he should have taken this election by a huge margin and didn't.

I doubt that this site is ran by Mr. Floraday. I am sure that he does not have the abilities to do this. I could be wrong but I don't think I am this time.

Welcome Back Alacajun,

I was of the impression that Ricky Boy did run this pus bag. This does not mean that he writes the questions. John, the Historical Society assorted queers and Comproa is enough
