That was astounding!
Did you catch that amazing display on America's Funniest Council Videos last night?
Was it an imposter or really the guy from Monroe Transfer telling the city they're footdragging in not agreeing to settle his lawsuit over the scrapyard he wants to reopen in the east side?
What was that about?
After that, the city would be crazy to settle with him before the administration changes - or settle with him at all.
Does that mean his case is really weak and he's grasping at straws, he's just greedy and impatient, or is trying to do someone a favor.
Someone told him the city wouldn't settle in the current administration? Who? Please tell me who.

Maybe John Iacoangeli promised them great things if they would only wait?
Well, well, well!!!! Looks like the people have spoke. Sorry Mr. Observer!!! Your whole team lost. Monroe is looking up and the cry babies are OUT!!!! As far as Monroe Transfer goes, looks like just as your predictions for the election results turned out, you dont know what your talking about again. Those folks will be open soon and bringing jobs to a much needed community. Maybe you should try predicting how Ico,Linda, and Floraday will try to have any relavence in this community other than the poor legacy they left on this town. Thanks to John Martin who did a great job on council. What a class act. I hope he continues in politics in the future. Congrats to the citizens of Monroe!!! Great night!!!!
Observer,
You are slipping on your picks. You only got five right, but that isn't real impressive given that 3 were running unopposed. I am a generous guy and say that you got .625 correct, but one could argue that you were actually .4 on the contested seats.
Sorry to you and Larry Camper that the Iaco, Floraday, Compora, and Guyor coalition didn’t get elected.
I guess we will have to adjust our outlook to just having a fiscally responsible group that wants what is best for the city. We’ll just be the fiscally responsible city with no progress per Linda and John instead of the beautiful, walkable, bankrupt historic city that Iaco wanted.
By the way – that was actually one of the Monroe Transfer owners. If what he says is correct it is good that the City won’t get nailed with a big settlement and he will bring in some tax revenue and jobs. Like Edwards said, I voted for the jobs!
I hope this puts an end to the coalitions and we will just have individual citizens running that want what is best for the city. The absence of Compora will certainly improve the decorum on the council. I’m going to miss those accusations of skunk order spraying, stolen flowers, open meeting act violations, and why do you exclude me?

Dear Observer,
You do tend to create the impression that you are an agent provocateur for The Monroe Evening News. A headline such as “That Was Astounding” and statements such as “the city would be crazy” tend to reinforce this observation. Further, your election predictions agree with those of the out of touch News Staff.
I am curious to see if there is a rerun of the show on local access TV.
It is not unreasonable to assume that good old Al hammered him out of order just as he did David Smith when Dave complained about Compora lying under oath to obtain a PPO that cost Dave $2,700.00 in needless legal fees.
Indeed the facts insofar as they are known show that a stupid Laura Kreps tried to do her boss a favor in claiming the law was a mistake and the CPC did not buy it. Had the rest of the ZBA voted along with the two lone wolves Brian Beneteau and David Smith to let them open we would not be in Federal court now.
Now that Willie Hall is fired from MacSteel we have a revived NAACP. Let’s see: Compora was fired from the airlines and Dave Smith is to blame. Someone in a Habitat home is bitching about living near a railroad and his kid is not right. I think many of these kids not born right are due to fetal substance abuse problems. Yes the city should settle with the wronged Monroe Transfer before the damages become greater.
I wonder how many people on the wrong side of the tracks precinct and were some of Willie's freedom riders voted for compora.
The question for the Observer is as follows. Why is it Astounding that the owner of Monroe transfer came before council with the contention that Monroe"s attorney offered a consent judgement and didnt follow up with his intentions. For the record attorneys are not allowed to offer these judgements with out the consent of the council. The point was that no one on council knew about what this attorney was doing. Meanwhile who told the attorney to make the offer if no one on council did? The owner said that the attorney made the offer to settle in front of a federal judge. So why wouldnt Monroe Transfer be upset? Sounds like they just exposed another screw up by Monroe. These guys should be given the key to the city for all the nonsense they have been through. Meanwhile the BZA told R and M recycling they couldnt have heavy machinery in their yard yet they continue to operate on a daily basis. R and M is in a lessor zoned area as well (i1) and Monroe Transfer is in i2. This is going to blow up in some ones face soon. Cappy must take full responsibility for this mess. Maybe Worrel will clean up his mess. Finally, we had firefighters and other city workers faced with not having jobs soon. Maybe we should let them go work at Monroe Transfer. Here we are laying off people that dedicate themselves to our city and at the same time continually tell a business that want to bring jobs in that they cant. Tell me if that's not ASTOUNDING to you Mr. Observer!!!

In the words of the Great One, Jackie Gleason, "How right you are".
Except, "Cappy" does not need to take responsibility for this - The "Washington Street Wizard" was the one that conjured up this mess. He directed this company to the Port where his employee (Randy "Dandy" (did you know I have my own wikipedia page) Richardville) and they strung them along (after they (Monroe Transfer) had an engineering assessment done) all the while trying to "down zone" the third street property. Opps - BTW, why does the Homrich place (Monroe Recycling) hardly ever get mentioned? It sits right behind the Port Authority offices? It was, again, the "Washington Street Wizard" that helped secure this "land" for them, was it not?
Note to the City - Settle! Quick, give us all a Christmas present and stop the new council from needing to deal with this BS.
In so far as police and fire being laid off - sorry. Our City can no longer afford the services. Besides, don't portray someone in a service job as, "dedicating themselves to our City". Look, they get paid - WELL for the service they provide and if this City would not have hired them they would be "dedicating themselves" to another community - it's a job folks, just like those "dedicated servants" at FoMoCo/Visteon/ACH who are losing there jobs don't make it anymore than what it is.
