East or West?

Monroe has a new mayor who's rumored to be wanting to close the west side fire station. Others say it would make more sense to close the east side fire station. Closing one or the other could mean fire trucks sent to the area after the closing could be blocked by trains.
Should maybe we close the central fire station instead?

Lets just close all of the stations, and require everyone to install a sprinkler system in their homes. The city could even subsidize this over a ten year term. It would be alot cheaper in the long run, and there would still be money left over for paid on call or volunteer firemen.

Observer, you must be busy visiting your daughter abroad? You really should do away with the moderation, so intelligent conversation can continue in your absence.

Hey, I hear Willie Hall is trying to get the NAACP to stage an uprising about the possibility of closing the East side station. He and some of his "supporters" think this will make the new Mayor elect look bad. Sore losers. Just go away.

I can't tell you for sure who the observer is, but I can tell you for sure that they didn't post all during the time John, Rick, Linda and others were gone on vacation. My guess is that it definitely is one of the LOSERS. My best guess is Rick.

Well Rick,

What is this about the newspaper publishing a well written article by David Alkire Smith on the Murals and how the DDA needs to be disolved.

Can you make it without the power to screw us?

Unless something can be done to resolve the traffic killer (train tracks) at either Toll Street or Kentucky and Eastchester it is not possible at this time to shut either station, simply based on common sense.

It would be easier to shut the west end station if an underpass could be constructed at Toll St. However, this is a big IF, isn't it?
