Talk about nutcases ...
How about this Virginia Tech shooter? Man, if you're gonna wreak such havoc why not have a real, identifiable cause.
My guess is this guy was on some sort of medication. I mean who else would waste such an opportunity to make some sort of socially redeeming statement. Instead, all we get are rants and ramblings from this guy that don't make any sense.
I guess that all makes sense.
Yeah, I know. Someone reading this is going to turn it into an anti-somebody-in-the-city rant. If that happens, I personally will hunt down their server ID and then hunt them down.

Hunt away observer!
If you hunt are you going to hunt with a gun?
The problem with what happened at Virginia Tech is that no other students had a way to fight back. Had a student or two been in possession of a legal firearm, and with the legal training which comes with getting a concealed weapons permit, it may have been possible to take out this nut job before he killed so many.
I've seen numerous news stories today about gun control and how this could have been avoided. It could have been avoided by someone in this nut's family recognizing the signals put out by this nut, and gotten him help.
As far as gun control goes, I consider putting three rounds within the same hole at thirty feet gun control.
Take away all of the guns from legal responsible adult gun owners, and then you will only have illegal criminals and nut cases running around with guns, with no protection from them.
I'm just pissed that the kid killed himself, what a coward! He should have had a shoot out with the police, been wounded, gone to court, found guilty, and then live out his remaining days on death row. At least questions may have gotten answered as to what triggered him off. Probably went goofy over somebody stalking him.
Let's turn this into a somebody-in-the-city rant. Here goes!
The city council should pass an ordinance requiring everyone 21 years and older to carry a concealed pistol. That would include all of the councilmembers and mayor as well, and maybe they could use them on each other. Who would be the favorite and who would be the target?
I have to agree. Our capital improvements need to be addressed, and not just projects that show, "look what I did as Mayor" but real projects like infrastructure and roads. Let Iacoangeli and his cronies back in and we will have the best walkable city with park areas, which are walkable because our streets are so bad and we can't drive.
Observer,
I'm just worried to death that you are going to hunt me down.
To prove it, let me get extra mean and do an anti-library rant.
Why does the City of Monroe need more libraries? We already have two. How many does Monroe Township have? I think that would be 0? Why can't the people who want more library just ride the stupid bus out to the Ellis branch?
This was just a stupid pipe dream of the last Administration (IACO), and his minions like Florady and Compora want his legacy of stupidity to live on. It is uneeded, and we can't afford it.
Lets sell the United Furniture building, and end the insanity.
Now - come and get me observer! Of course you'll have to give up your own identity as part of the tradeoff!
Finally, some half-way decent comments and only a couple mild rants.
And they raise other questions. Do we think this will help or hurt gun-control, gun-rights movements? Could go either way, I guess.
What's amazing to me is that no one had any sort of a weapon. It usually can be taken for granted that there are weapons of most types on campuses around the nation.
I don't think the city council needs to pass an ordinance. I think most everyone in the city already is armed.
BTW, those who comment on this blog are free to say anything about anyone. I just think some folks have some pathological obsession with certain personalities. I mean if we made a list of all the jerks and morons in the city, would it consist of only the six or eight names that routinely show up here?
If that's the case, I'll just start separate bash (fill in any name here) blogs, so they can be categorized more easily.
The United Furniture building will probably be an interesting chapter in the city's history when it's all over.
As far as the assessment goes, be careful what you wish for. A lot of residents can tell you where city waste is until someone calls one of their pet operations waste. My guess is that a couple sacred cows are going to get gored if it really is an honest assessment.
As for libraries, I wonder who the first brave council person will be who suggests shutting down a city library?
Here's a question. Looking out towards the courthouse today, I happened to see a few councilmen (Martin, Compora, and Beneteau) not walking together but at similar times. I also saw Floriday and the older guy who came to the council meeting to video Compora. What the heck was going on? Anyone know?
Must not be newsworthy.
I'm sure the Monroe Evening News would be all over what happened at the courthouse if it was newsworthy.
Probably just another moron acting up.
OK! Here's what I've heard.
Compora has gotten a Personal Protection Order (PPO) against David Smith (the guy who video taped her at the last Council meeting) and they were in court to hear his side of the story. She claims that he has ruined her life, she can't find a job, and that the reason other Council members won't work with her is because of Mr. Smith. She has now stated that Mr. Smith is the culprit in the old skunk in the car act from last year, back when she blamed either the Mayor or someone on Council, who knows. She has claimed that he is stalking her because he put pictures of her front yard signage on the internet (www.historicmonroe.org where you will see several pictures of Compora doing what she does best, nag) and because of the video taping episode. Other than that, you will have to go back to court when they finish up this Friday. Not sure of the time, but it is supposedly in front of Judge Costello, the Judge who issued the PPO in the first place. Reminds me of Londo's PPO against Jan Jay which was eventually thrown out, just like this one should. Compora needs to realize that being a public official will put you in situations where you may face criticism and scrutiny, not to mention having your name and picture placed on the internet. Hope this was helpful.
