This and that

A few observations that defy explantion:
1. What's with this weather. Oh for the days of March when it was 70. It's raining so hard, I'm starting to think wet basement crusader Gary Keck really cheesed off some higher power. It's easy to imagine. Keck has been on the city's case for a decade it seems about how a sewer backup ruins stuff in his mom's basement. The city offered a settlement for the crap, but he thumbed his nose at it and got nothing. So he rants about it in letters, in ads, on public access TV, anywhere he can find a forum. I mean I've seen some really bad public access TV, but Keck's show on the injustice of his mom's flooded basement makes some of Dean Patton's up close and personal tributes to the Custer statue and Heck Park seem interesting.

2. What's with speeders on Macomb St. in front of the hospital. At one point they were talking about putting a light up at Lorain St. but the idea was nixed. That's probably a good idea, but they should put a couple speed traps out there for a week or two or someone will get hurt. BTW, the new hospital front -- ER and main entrance -- is really taking form. It should look pretty neat when it's done.

3. In a previous post, I wondered whether the new fair merchant's building or the new county communications center would get built first. Looks like no contest. It'll be the fair building by six lengths. But the communications building will probably have the biggest price tag.

In the writers opinion this Gary Keck needs to understand that Monroe is built in a swamp. His mother was perhaps stupid for placing anything that should not get wet below ground level. The city may be spending too much already taking care of demands of confused and stupid folks like Compora and Gary. Keck needs to disconnect from the sewer it he cannot deal with a simple engineering problem and get a Roosevelt outhouse in his yard. How Compora ever got the UAW endorsement after helping run our last papermill out of town defies logic. Everyone in Monroe needs a Roosevelt outhouse to show their fierce loyalty to the Democratic Party. Those with functional sewer systems can use it for a tool shed.

Most modern automobiles get their best fuel economy at about 47 miles an hour if you avoid braking. Stop signs, traffic lights etc waste gasoline—we all need to drive like the folks in Mexico. If the Mexicans need a roundabout they make the path for one by avoiding collisions. Mexico is good!

The Fair Board is mostly farmers and such entrepreneurs understand spending money wisely. The communications center is a waste of taxpayer money like the splash pool. Neither facility is needed—both have cost overruns built into the plan. In confusion there is profit.

Geez, Anonymous No.1, I'll cop to saying a lot of moronic things, but if you re-read my post on a Macomb
St. light, I tried to indicate that nixing a light was a good idea. I also said they should up put a couple speed traps -- THAT MEANS WRITING TICKETS! If you want to call people morons, maybe you should practice identifying them by looking in a mirror first! Sheesh!
BTW, if you wrote the post after getting sloshed, I forgive you.

Anonymous No. 2: I was with you on the Keck and swamp thing, I missed that connection to Compora but figured it was just an unrelated rank, but MEXICO IS GOOD?
I guess that's why they're such a world power.

Hey Observer,
Looks like the verdict is in on Councilman Paisley. Ready to eat crow? No violation of the ethics ordinance. Guess you were wrong.

One should feel sorry for Councilperson Paisley and the whole ethics panel who donated their time to hear a frivolous complaint from Compora against an innocent man. Linda Compora appears to reflect a troubled deluded woman who should not serve as a council person.

Compora’s anti industry stance is outrageous. She would turn neighbor against neighbor and race against race for reasons that make no sense. The scrap yard fuss has many people looking at all issues carefully. It first must clear the ZBA determination which may very well come back with a logical conclusion that Ben Tallerico and Laura Kreps were so lacking in due diligence that in two and one half years a serviceable zoning code could not be written.

It is considered that Linda was video-taped by Monroe Transfer spreading falsehood and stirring up hate and discontent at the ALCC meeting. This gives Monroe Transfer good ammunition for a lawsuit. What part of the open meetings act does Linda Compora not understand?

Linda Compora should check her home owner’s liability policy for exclusion: “The insured is not covered for acts of libel or slander made knowing the falsity thereof”.

My understanding is its only slander and harrasment if it is someone questioning Comporas character.

Her false accusations are all entirely true in her fictional world. Is it lying if you believe your horseshit?
