No Wal-Mart, I bet
I never say never, but another early projection is warranted: There won't be a Wal-Mart in Bedford anytime soon. If you've been wandering around the community recently, the NO WAL-MART signs are all over the place. It's almost like if the place is built, it will mysteriously burn down faster than a St. Vincent de Paul store. Really bizarre.

How did that library meeting go last night (Monday)? Is it going to happen? Hope not, don't want my taxes raised for an obsolete library. I can find whatever I need online.
Apparently a bunch of people showed up and said we need a fatter library. Then the city officials started sounding like they might put the issue of fixing the United Furniture building on the ballot. So it looks like the voters will ante up for it -- right after they ante up for the road millage.
